After nearly two decades of work, almost 2,000 people have experienced Building Bridges programs. Our work is successful when our alumni feel connected to each other, to the work of recognizing the humanity of the ‘other,’ and to teaching what they’ve learned in big and small ways.
Currently we are actively engaging alumni in several ways:
This periodic newsletter will keep alumni up to date about social activities, gatherings, and other opportunities.
The invite-only Building Bridges Alumni Facebook page allows alumni to stay connected in real time to the organization and to one another, but privately from other Facebook members. Contact us to receive an invitation.
More than any other activity, alumni tell us they want an opportunity to connect informally and in person. We are planning regular gatherings by home group and across groups in the United States and the Middle East. Watch the newsletter, website, and Facebook pages for announcements. Want to host a gathering for fellow alumni in Northern Ireland, South Africa or elsewhere? Contact us with your ideas.
Involvement in the Organization
Our alumni are the best source of support for the organization and our participants. We strive to include alumni in all aspects of the organization, including as Board members, office and summer staff, participants on program and other teams, interns, and as mentors to new participants. We will promote opportunities as they are available, but let us know if you are interested in being involved.
Creating Opportunities for Other Alumni
We are seeking to engage alumni in creating more alumni programs and opportunities. Seed funding for alumni-led programs will be available soon. Watch for news and contact us if you have ideas!
